This is an exciting time to be in the market for a midsize sedan because Honda ushers in the all-new 11th Accord generation with the 2023 Honda Accord that is now available at Winter Honda. The Accord boasts a new design that is more modern and striking, and Honda has expanded the standard and optional equipment. It has also updated the trim selection to reflect some of the changes its made this year, but if you’re familiar with the previous generation, you’ll find familiar names among the 2023 Honda Accord trim levels, which include the LX, EX, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L and Touring.
The LX is impressively well equipped relative to other base models in the segment. This Accord has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine—192 horsepower and also 192 pound-feet of torque—mated to a CVT that distributes power to the front wheels. Standard features include automatic LED high-beam headlamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. Cabin features include a digital instrument panel, a 7-inch touch screen, in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, dual USB-C ports and a four-speaker audio system. The standard suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with intervention, lane centering and lane departure warning with intervention.
The EX trim level enhances the cabin with the average consumer in mind and without increasing the price too far beyond the base model. It upgrades the manual air conditioning to dual-zone automatic climate control and the base sound system to eight speakers. It also adds heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat and a sunroof.
The Sport is among the most notable 2023 Honda Accord trim levels because this is the point in the lineup in which the hybrid powertrain becomes standard, and it’s therefore the most affordable way to get that powertrain. Based on a 2.0-liter engine, it makes 204 hp and 247 lb.-ft. while delivering excellent fuel performance. The Sport contains everything the EX trim level includes minus the heated front seats. It also adds 19-inch wheels, a leather-wrapped steering, a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen and wireless versions of the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay software.
The EX-L is the fourth of the trim levels available at our Honda dealership. It doesn’t have the 19-inch wheels or the sportier exterior flourishes, but it does have the hybrid powertrain and all of the other equipment that the Sport added. It also adds back the heated front seats in addition to adding genuine leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, memory settings for the driver’s seat and dual rear USB ports. It also has 17-inch wheels and front and rear parking sensors.
There are two other options available for the 2023 Honda Accord. We expect the Sport-L to be a top seller as it combines the Sport and EX-L equipment packages—minus the parking sensors—and doesn’t cost much more than either of those models do on their own. Drivers who want a premium sedan experience have the option of the Touring. It has all of the standard and optional features mentioned thus far and also adds Google voice control, a wireless smartphone charging pad, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a head-up display, rain-sensing windshield wipers and a premium Bose audio system with 12 speakers.
